TSTC is a non-profit, state sponsored educational system that is composed of 4 systems with a total of 7 campuses across the state of Texas. We are recognized as a pioneer in the field of online, Wind Energy training. And being a state-sponsored educator, our tuition is affordable and unbeatable when compared to private and corporate educators.
Our training is only strengthened by ties with wind industry leaders such as Florida Power and Light (FPL) and Mitsubishi Power Systems.
TSTC is currently developing outlines for more specialized certificates and options for the near future.
Keep a close eye on this site for further details.
In addition, to provide additional flexibility to students, TSTC is partnering with community colleges
across Texas to help establish a unified curriculum for wind technicians. To assist those who plan to
take their education a step higher, TSTC has partnered with Texas Tech University so that students
who have completed a two year degree in wind energy can carry their credit forward and apply it to
a four year degree.
The new TSTC wind turbine is online and operational at the Highlands. The turbine, built through a joint venture
with the city of Sweetwater, is experimental and is the first of its kind in the world. The turbine will play a key role in
the Associates program at TSTC. See its construction here.
The second group of students to pass through the TSTC Wind Certificate training is set to in January 2009.
The first group of students consisted primarily of industry technicians and representatives and we received
a good deal of feedback on our curriculum that will only serve to benefit future groups.
